Aviation seems to be the first assets of exportation
in France. It’s grows is about 2% per year. French aviation seems to be a very
competitive sector, the selling of civil and military aircrafts represented 22 billion
euros in 2015, a figure never reached before. The principal buyers are the
Middle East and the Asian countries which are in full growth in this sector.
However, how does the French aviation industry proceed to keep its high level in
the sector?
Airbus is the leader in the aviation with its
big competitor Boeing. The market share grows every year and it is a huge
battle that starts to decide which of the two giants will gain them. In 2016
Airbus registered a total of 731 orders against 668 for Boeing. However, Airbus
needs a solid way to consolidate its place as a leader.
It is at this moment that some
companies interfere in the cycle of aviation life. What would a big client like
Emirates say if they have no after sales service?
Companies such as Diehl Aerosystems GmbH which
are specialized in maintenance of aircraft items are working with Airbus to
provide a specific service. The goal of this partnership is to give the
possibility to the clients to build a solid relationship between them and
Airbus. This is why Diehl is working very hard to be as competitive as possible
concerning maintenance of aircrafts systems and items. 13 000 workers around
the world work together in the love of aviation. Diehl Aerosystems generates an
annual turnover of more than €800 million.
The giant of aviation just sold a
total of 140 aircrafts to China (100 A320 aircraft and 40 A350) which its
amount is established at more than 23 billion of USD. Diehl as no possibility
to sign contracts of this amount. This is why in the 2000’s the company decided
to put a foothold in the market and started selling its own aircraft items.
These items would permit to gain some time while repairing the items and reduce
the time of AOG (AIRCRAFT ON GROUND*) and have the possibility to replace quickly
the missing items with the development of production sites.
Diehl
Aerosystems developed several development and production sites in Frankfurt, Hamburg, at its
headquarters in Laupheim, as well as in Nuremberg, Überlingen, and Rostock.
With the customer service facilities in Toulouse (France) for Europe and Asia,
Sterrett (Alabama, USA) for North and South America, as well as Singapore
(managed by its partner, Satair) for the Asia-Pacific region, Diehl Aerosystems
has a truly global presence.
*AOG=
Aircraft On Ground is the signification of the inability for an aircraft to
work properly because of a dysfunction of an elementary element.
